Through the eyes of a child :)

Last Sunday we had Sally (Tupperware Queen) and her hubby and two children, James and Benji come to visit - this is what we got sent today from James, the 10 year old icon_biggrin.gif We feel very humbled and we admit to having a tear or two and lumps in our throats.
What a lovely thing to do - and what a wonderful thing that James has been so touched by Oxo and Fliss affection.gif affection.gif affection.gif

Oxo’s Story

This is the story of Oxo, a poor little rabbit. He was born around the summer of 2006. He had lots of brothers and sisters. Baby rabbits are called kittens, and a group of them are called a litter. When Oxo and his brothers and sisters were kittens they were taken to a pet shop and sold, but Oxo and his sister Fliss, who were born in different litters, were not sold because they were disabled. Their back legs cross over and have weak muscles so they pull themselves along instead of hopping like a normal rabbit. Oxo’s legs get very sore, so he lies on his back which means he hasn’t got much hair on his back.

Their owner was very cruel to them and gave them a cold, dirty, horrid and small cardboard box which was totally unsuitable for any living creature to live in. Oxo felt scared because people were putting their hands in the box and he thought it was a bird of prey attacking him.

If Oxo and Fliss had stayed with this cruel, heartless and vile, person they would have been spitefully put to sleep because they couldn’t be sold to the pet shop and no money could be made from them.

Luckily, one day two lovely and wonderful people came and sweetly adopted Oxo and Fliss, the names of these brilliant people are Jay and John. Now Oxo and Fliss are having a lovely life with Jay, John and the other bunnies at a rescue for disabled rabbits in Wales, called Ebony Eyes. There is a website with more information and more photographs at http://ebonyeyes.co.uk.
