A thank you
A thank you from Oxo and Fliss.
Oxo and Fliss have settled in so very well They have both visited the vets and are on special eye drops as their eyes where quite bad. Oxo is blind in the one eye and the other one is clearing up nicely we are delighted with his progress
Fliss is blind in both eyes but the drops have been helping her and now she has no inflammation at all on them She is a proper daddy's girl Her legs are just as bad as Oxo's legs but she is happy, contented and very loved.
They are wonderful little people and are so very brave, they love to play and they love to be cuddled.
Thank you so very much to everyone who helped with these little ones Oxo and Fliss have a life now and one that is full of love and laughter They are adored by us and by so many people. Oxo has the great honour of being Bunny-Mad Magazine's sponsor bun He did say he deserved it though
Both buns will be going to have x-rays done in the next couple of weeks - this is to find out if anything can be done about their legs - we doubt that anything can be done but with love and care we hope that these two beauties have a long and healthy life
Thank you so much everyone - you have helped to save Oxo and Fliss' lives We may be getting another one who we have called Possum who has come from the same place that they where rescued from. Possum is too young to leave his mum yet and has eye problems - but hopefully Possum can join the Hairy Mob in due course
Thank you again and Oxo and Fliss send their love, thanks and big snuggles to you all

Fencing and Garden Appeal
Is anyone able to help us raise £4,000? I know it's an awful lot but we have been battered with the winds this winter and have lost a lot of fencing, damage has been done to other fencing and the trees and large bushes are now dangerous This means that we can't let the buns out in the garden as it's now unsafe
Due to our disablities we are finding it more and more difficult to do the hedges which are now as big as trees It gets worse and worse each year and now that the winds have gotten to them they are totally unsafe! We are not able to even put any fencing up by ourselves, again, due to our disabilities and the time factor involved
We have quite a large garden and what we would love to do is have the whole thing fenced off with proper fencing, not this waney lap stuff that keeps breaking It's costing more to repair the blooming stuff and replace it so good fencing would be ideal, would not rot the way the other has and would be a lot safer for the buns We have to remove trees and large bushes and this would have to be a professional job.
We would also like to make six 8ft by 20ft runs for the buns - this would also leave lots of garden for the others to run around in and for those who cannot really walk so we could still sit outside with them while they lay on blankets and get some sun on their bones We also have two buns in foster at the moment and need to build another bunny house with large run attached for them. The quicker we can get this done the quicker they can come home to Ebony-Eyes
We have had some quotes through and the one man that we would really love to do the work has quoted us about £4,000 - which I know seems such a lot but when you think that they will remove the trees and bushes, will put them in a couple of skips and get rid of them - they will also do all the proper fencing, build the huge runs, build another bunny-house and large run as well as lay some flags in the new runs The garden would be such a safe haven for the buns to play out in on nice days and they would have so much to do in the big runs as well as see so many of the others that they don't normally see We would be able to have most of the buns playing out on nice days which would give them lots of fresh air and exercise plus, we would be able to sit out with the buns who can't walk and watch them all playing
If you can help in any way then please contact me at jaypot@btinternet.com and let us know what you can do. Can you do a boot sale for us? An attic sale or garage sale? One lady who is fostering the two buns for us is talking about having her long hair shaved off!!!! Can you get your hubby to be waxed for donations? Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated John and I don't want anything - all we want is for the Hairy Mob to be safe and happy and what more could they ask for than a garden that is private, safe and full of fun things to do? Please, please help if you can

Christmas fundraiser 2007

CHRISTMAS FUNDRAISING 2007, for Carrot and Ebony Eyes
Well it’s November and about time we started thinking about getting some cash for our 2 rescues CARROT and EBONY EYES
For those of you who have not been here for the last 2 years I will give a quick run down basically we have fundraised in order to buy our friends at CARROT and EBONY EYES a little gift at Christmas
For Christmas 2005 we presented CARROT with a cheque for £542 which went towards buying indoor cages and bits and bobs for their portacabin
For Christmas 2006 we fundraised for CARROT and EBONY EYES and raised just over £1000!! We spent the majority on things things that the rescues asked for in a wish list, including grooming products, toys, beds and much more!! We also sent a cheque each for £125 with the remaining money
How did we raise the money?? - the members of Wabbiting on(Forum) suggested and organised raffles, sweepstakes, photo competitions and various other money making ideas! Calendars and Christmas cards were made and eBay auctions and donations all helped raise the funds
Wabbiting on may be a small knit community, but it just shows how much we care about our friends and bunnies in rescues and it gives us all a chance to help a little
Remember we need ideas that don’t cost too much to implement and make loads a cash
